Sunday Afternoon

It's half time of the first game. Surprising. Didn't think the Jets would be ahead at the half. So, now I'm hoping the Jets win. Just because. . . Rookie QB, Shonn Greene, haven't been there since 'forever', etc.

Last night went down to the lodge and watched the movie RV. The hostess popped some corn and used White Cheddar seasoning. Pretty good. We were all laughing and commenting during the movie. Both Sharon and I could say that we never drove that badly. We were wondering how bad it would have been if he had also towed a car.

The host/hostess camper has a kitchen over the hitch. Yes, they have a fifth wheel. She offered to give us a tour. We haven't taken her up on it but we will. A 45 foot fifth wheel pulled in last week. Watching that thing come around the corner was pretty impressive. We all want a tour of the inside of that one.

On Friday while doing laundry met another camper. Even though he has a washer/dryer in his camper he was doing it at the laundry room. He said he had let it back up over the past few weeks. He had just put his Holiday Rambler motor home on Ebay and Craig's List. He now wants a fifth wheel. His coach sounds very nice. He replaced the carpeting with hard wood floors. He also had a full size side by side fridge put in. They had to take the windshield out to get the old fridge out and new one it. Almost cost more for installation than the unit. No, we're not considering but sometimes I wish I had another small freezer. That's for when I buy meat from Iowa. Still can't find a really good place to get meat. The person behind the meat counter (if you can call it that) explained they only have red meat when asked about pork chops. He said they get the pork chops from the factory. Truly not sure we want to buy meat there.

It's been windy the last couple of days. Gusting around 32 - 35. One gust yesterday blew the grill over. Nothing damaged. Not too bad a mess since I had only grilled hot dogs the day before. It's getting a little colder at night again. The furnace ran a couple of times during the night. At the end of the week, could drop below freezing again. At least during the day it'll climb back up into the 50's. Still, doesn't it figure, our first winter south and it's the coldest in years.

Had a nice big breakfast this morning. Sharon shredded potatoes for hash browns. So scrambled eggs (ham, celery, onions, cheese), hash browns, toast, and orange juice. Will warm up one of the hot dogs for lunch. Supper will either be popcorn or nachos. Not sure which one will win.

Found an ice cream similar to Blue Bunny, Blue Bell. It even has "blue" in the name. Picked up some butter pecan and java mash. They sell it at the convenience store next to the campground. Didn't have to worry about it melting coming from the store.

Maybe this week we'll go to Gruene again. Didn't have too much time the last time to go through the various stores.

Half time is over. Back to the game.
