Ladies Day Out - March 2

A little behind in my posts. I'll start with last Tuesday. 4 of us "ladies" decided to see a little more of the hill country. We started around 10:30 am. Think the later start was for us. Everyone thinks we sleep very very late. Don't want to change the perception, either. Arrived back home at 8:30 pm. Beautiful day. The weather cooperated.

First we stopped off at Comfort, TX. It's just 12 miles from Welfare. Love the names of these towns, don't you. We looked through a few of the antique shops but didn't buy anything until we found the chocolate store. Had an excellent time.

Here's Linda, Sue and Sharon. We stopped to view a few pecan trees. And, of course, Sharon tried one. She shared half. It was excellent.

Loved this sign. We did stop in at a few stores.

Don't you just love the dog beds. This was the dogs living area. None of this stuff was for sale. Molly's laying in the bed. Hudson jumped on a chair to pose.

The chocolate store included homemade fudge. Just chocolate and peanut butter. But enough.

We decided to eat lunch. We stopped at the High Cafe. Named after the street. Cute little shop.

Next on to Camp Verde. There isn't much here except the General Store. The fort burned down in the 90's sometime. It's best known for the army camel experiment. That's why all of the "camel" items. Before arriving at the store, there was a little creek/river. Stopped and took some pictures. The tree roots were amazing.

We stopped here for a few minutes. Sue needed to buy some licorice for Gary. Linda bought sugar babies and caramel vanilla nougats for Herb. Of course, I had to try this. At the store, there was pansies and flowering kale blooming.

Then we were off to Bandera, cowboy capital - or so they say. We wandered through a few stores there. Decided to have supper at Brick's cafe which is along the Medina river.

We're planning a couple more outings in March. Of course, if you want to see more pictures, they're on our kodak site. On to the next post.
